That same night, when Jaylene was sure her dad was asleep, she snuck out on the porch. Not long after, Ricky snuck out hoping to see Jaylene, and there she was. "Jaylene? What are you doing out so late?". At first, she hesitated to answer, until she finally said, "Oh, hello Ricky. I just needed some fresh air, and I was admiring the city lights." He smiled, "Yeah, you're - I mean - they're beautiful all right. Probably nothing like London though. So your twin, Emma, she's a movie star, right?" Jaylene saddened a bit. "Yes, she's a movie star." She knew this would happen, but she didn't think it would happen so soon. "You don't sound too happy about it. What's wrong?" he asked after her half-hearted reply. "Oh, nothing," she replied. He just smiled, "Okay, I know that I don't know you too well, but I do know it's never nothing. You can talk to me." She was surprised at how much he seemed to know about how she felt when she just met him a few hours ago. This let her know he cared. Then, she got a comfortable sensation around him she never felt with anyone else, so she said, "It's just that, I'm happy for Emma, but she seems to be the only reason people talk to me." "Well, just so you know, I wanted to get to know you better before I knew Emma was your twin." She smiled. Her heart leaped to know he felt that way. "I want to get to know you too, but Daddy said I couldn't associate with you because you looked like trouble. How could we pull it off?" Ricky was just silent. He hated judgemental people, especially when they judged him before they even knew him. He just went back inside and went to bed, leaving Jaylene filled with guilt.
